Midwest Torque Convertors.... or some other budget convertors

Can somebody tell me who sells them. I've checked several websites and have been unable to locate them. I know several people who run them but don't know where they got them. Also any other options other than Vigilante and Yank are welcomed. I think TCI makes Vigilante right? Or are they seperate? I just can't afford to spend $800 on a convertor right now and the lil old 2400 ain't cuttin it anymore.

I have a Midwest 3600 converter, and really couldn't be happier! I purchased it new off of a fellow board member, so I can't help you there.

I am new to this whole automatic transmission thing, so could somebody quickly explain to me what a torque converter does and what 3500-4000 range means.

Thanks

Midwest has the same warranty and re-stalls as the 2 big names. Contact John at HPAParts

www.hpaparts.com

I'm extremely happy with my converter and I think it was $489 to my door.

Would a 2400 stall be in the range I should shoot for (to purchase). I plan to put on longtubes, 1.7 RR, and then maybe a cam. Would the stall not hold me over long enough, meaning after the headers and rockers would I need to go to a higher stall? Also, would buying one used affect its performance or life?
