mid to high rpm skip

I just got done reading the 26 pages about the hesistation others have been having but my problem is different. I have a 93 M6 Formula, 114K (was T. Renz's car) and the problem is a skip under full throttle that happens anywhere from 3000-5500 rpm. It is a pretty significant skip (enough to jerk the whole car). I have replaced fuel filter, plugs, wires, O2s, and put in a different opti (used from Jay Short). The strange thing is that if I reset the computer the car runs great for about 20 miles or so then the problems starts again. The more I drive the worse it gets. Then if I reset the computer, the cycle starts all over again. The car also hesitates a little about 1800 - 2000 rpm but I am not as comcerned about that as the other problem. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Chris

P.S. This is my first post but I have been enjoying the information on this board for a long while!

Sorry, I forgot to post my mods since this might have an effect on the solution to my problem or might be the cause. I have a K&N cone filter, slp Y pipe, dynomax 3" cat, hooker catback. I also forgot to mention that I replaced intake manifold gaskets because I thought I might have a leak. I might also mention that I have a very slight exhaust leak on the driver's side that I have been fighting with. It stops leaking once the car warms up though.
Thanks,
Chris

Any ideas? I am getting a little frustrated with the car. One more thing too...when I bought the car the wire to temperature sensor (on the block) was disconnected. The connector was gone so I put just a regular female connector on it. The temp gage works so I assumed that everything was fine. Think this would have anything to do with it?
