What about this pump?

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

I need this spelled out for me. Noone is really aggreeing on one pump. What is the best all around oil pump that you would trust on a new 357 ci LT1? I was planning on using the stock oil pan but I can upgrade if need be.

If I am not mistaken, that is the private label pump made by melling for GM and it might be the new casting. if you do a search on the 10%hv(10552) pump according to Brett Baur that pump should not suck the pan dry and it also comes with the hardend pump shaft.

Damn, thanks guys I'm glad I desided to check it instead of firing her up for the 1st time it was mighty tempting.

Oh and for the people asking ?'s about the HV pump I'm using a custom STEF'S oil pan so the HV works great for my application. If you don't mind spending the extra dough STEF'S are top notch. For stock use the standard (old design)w/ the white spring.

im getting totally confused now with all the oil pumps. which one is best to get? the NAL-12555884? MEL-10553 w/ white spring? It seems like everyone is saying NOT to go high volume because it will suck your pan dry. Instead keep it stand volume but high pressure right? correct me if im wrong. I have the M155HV which is both HV/HP, i guess i will ditch that one and get me a different one

It will suck the stock pan dry if you have an extra compacity pan then you are fine.

I have decided to go with the M155 (stock replacement) and then pick up the white spring.

What makes this one better? I have my HP M155 pump with the gm white spring sitting in front of me.

I just ordered the 10552 pump which is a 3/4 inlet for the pick up and 10% over the stock pump. Im wondering if I should have gone with the 10555 which is 25% over stock since I have a canton pan and the GN white spring? This is for a blown 383.

If you have a Canton pan there is no problem with the high volume pump. Only on the stock pans is there a problem.
