Mechanical or Electrical Oil Pressure Guage?

Going to get a oil pressure guage tomorrow..which one to get?

Elect is better, but always more expensive.

I'd go with electric on this one as well. I would hate to think of hot oil blowing on me when I was driving down the road if something when wrong. Kinda why I went with an electric fuel pressure gauge.

or your mechanic could break the compression fitting like mine did and leave an oil trail to my house.

For accuracy and reliability go with the mechanical. If it is installed correctly, you will have no problems, and it will work regardless of what is going on with the car. I personally like the idea of my guages working even if the electrical system in the car is on the fritz for some reason.

Cool

I went with mechanical. They are far more accurate, which is what I want if something is happening with my oil system. As Dreamer said, it also keeps everything in check in case the electrical system goes down. Imagine driving down the road and something shutting the car off and not knowing your oil pressure 3 years now and no problems
