The main differences are the passages for the reverse flow cooling, including the way the water pump mounts.

I'll try to find a 93-96 LT1 block just to make things really simple. I'm kinda pissed off because it's a shame this happened. The kid who owned it before me ran 90W Gear oil as his engine oil.

Also, a couple of the roller rockers I could literally pick up and move side to side, almost 75 degrees. It's Cylinder 3 & 5 on the right bank. Is this normal?
Not sure what you mean about the lifters, but sounds like everything below the heads could be totally trashed. You had to know it had some real problems when only paying $1000. If the PO used gear oil for motor oil, no telling what else is suspect.

No it's not normal at all. Pushrods could be bent, no way the car ran with the lash so far off.

Got any pics of the car and damage?

I have pictures of the body of the car. Not the damage, though. When we get it in the garage tomorrow, I'll take a short video and upload it.

I'm hoping the cam is atleast still good. :/

Why not just purchase a new shortblock? Victory race engines, Golen engine's, or ellwein engines are all good choices and have packages priced from mild too wild. Good luck with the purchase, hopefully the drivetrain is unscathed "fingers crossed "

Cams are not THAT expensive, esp compared to the rest of the build. at this point, id say plan on replacing everything.
