Me vs. LS1

98 z28 ls1 with intake, pacesetter lt's , dual 3 inch cutoff at axles, 3.42's , unknown cam , tune and possibly ported heads vs. my LT1 with mods in sig. and a 2500 stall. Who do you think would win? I think I know , what about you?

Looks to be similar mods to both cars. That said, LS1 wins.

They must have done the conversion. I would say it depends on the driver. I have seen some cars out matched by 500 hp + and still win because of driver error. If you put the same type of driver in both cars, I would have to say LS1. The LS1 has better heads and intake and can flow more than the LT1 and everyone knows air makes power.

Just went over to Lloyd Elliots site and noticed that his LS1-LE1 heads flow better than his LT1-LE3 heads. The LS1-LE1 is 295/210 and the LT1-LE3 is 280/195. That right there is hands down the reson why the LS1 wins unless you have the juice.

LS1 heads possibly ported w/unknown cam. Shoot just an LS1 with a cam. That by itself is enough to sway my mind. Then I saw that you had 2.73 gears out back on a CC306 that deffinately sways the marker to the LS1 unless he is a realy bad driver.

Get some 3.73's or 4.10s with drag radials and race from a dig. Now that would be an interesting 1/8 mi race.

Thumbs up

I'm gonna race him , but not until I get the 30# svo's,3000 stall, 3.73's and dyno time. Maybe it will make for a better race.

You might want to look into a larger pump to feed those injectors and engine. I would say go with some 37# racetronix since you have ported heads. Thats what I am running with a 255lph racetronix pump and she is running crisp. With the mods you have mentioned it should make for a much closer race. Race him for pinks and then you will have the best of both worlds (Or he will).

how do u have 2.43's i thought z28's came with 3.42's stock ,

i would say the ls1 1. beacause ur running 2.43's and stock injectors with a cc306 with ported heads , im sure your engine is starving for fuel , but then again my buddy's 94 has p&p heads bigger valves isky .610 cam ported intake stock tb stock inj, and bbk headers and he is laying down 429rwhp tuned

but i still think the ls1 cause ur not running a stall he will eat u off the line , if u had a stall diff story ,lt1's are torqey off the line and ls1's seem to like to rev , idk i wouldnt race him for pinks unless ur running spray to compensate for the extremly low ratio gears and no stall and cc306 cam

Right now I'm shifting @ about 5,800 maybe 6k. After the 3000 stall should I take it a little higher?

lt1's dont like rpm much above 6k unless she has been balenced keep her at 6100 red line and shift a 6k IF you have valve springs that can take that RPM ,if not ur hp is droping off at 5800 , u should really look into 3.73's i have them and get great mpg and good acceleration once she is past 2700 she screams . make sure its a 3k stall with lockup if ya dont get one like that ur gonna kick urself in the ***** cause there went all ur mpg and she will sit at 2500 when ur trying to drive very slow .

i think with what u have now add 3.73's and that 3k stall u want with some larger inj + tuning u could lay down somewhere in the 420 to 450rwhp range . i think u could toast that ls1

definatly a plan , my brother has a 94 Z vert with p&p stock heads with2.00 /1.94 valves ,valves springs hardend push rods, stock rockers, ported intake ,isky custom grind .610 lift, bbk shortys ,stock y pipe with stock cats, 3in catback magnaflow, stock tb ,stock inj. stock stall with fully built 4l60e, 3.73's, CAI, and bbk under drive pulleys, and custom tuned it on the dyno and he just layed down 429rwhp 2 days ago at Wyotech in PA
and im pretty sure with a stall , 58mm tb ,42lb inj and retuning it he could lay down almost 450 to 460 rwhp
just something to think about , he can ebliterate the tires at 40 mph running 255/50zr16's like it is now,

im waiting for him to send me his 52mm tb comp pro magnum rr's and some other stuff
