Well....Here are some pics for you guys. Keep in mind this clutch only had almost 2,400miles and never a clutch dump with slicks of any kind, or traction for that matter.

If it was chattering like that, SOMETHING was messed up. No problems on my car. Street driving is great... doesn't slip at all.

Sorry to hear you're having these problems.

Holy crap man!

I don't think that was installed correctly those are some major hot spots. My stocker did not have that many with 88K on it.

Yeah, tell me about it. I couldnt believe my eyes either when I first took it apart. Im still shocked at how ****ed up they are for hardly any miles. I hope McLeod is willing to fix something or at least help me out somehow(even though it seems that it was half stropes fault for not noticing the drag flywheel and installing it anyhow.

Also, about the steel flywheel is a "drag flywheel" response a page back or so....According to what stropes told me initially. McLeod had originally sent the/a steel flywheel...but it was not the street version that would allow slow mating of the plates and disk, etc. It was intended for high rpm, grab-and-go type launches. They said the drag race steel flywheel has special material in it that makes for super grabs. Apparently the street steel flywheel doesnt have that material in it which allows it to
slowely mate the plates and disks...which makes it streetable. Were they lieing to me?!?! Does McLeod actually make two different steel flywheels...or was stropes having difficulties and blamed it on that??

So, What do you guys think? Can my plates and stuff be resurfaced if McLeod doesnt do anything or do I need all new stuff? Im at least going to get rid of this steel flywheel and replace it with aluminum, if they
dont offer to replace stuff and I have to buy all new parts. If they replace it...then I guess Ill just stick with my ancor.

As far as I know, Mcleod only makes one version of the steel flywheel. I just bought a new street twin and had no coice other than steel/aliuminum. Might want to question the installer some more....

yea, there is only one version of the steel flyhweel that I know.

I have found from peoples cars I work on that driver plays a huge role in clutch life. Even my stock clutch was still holding 1.7 60fts @ 70k miles. my clutches have always seemed to last a long time.. but I drive very clutch friendly on the street.. slip it as little as possible.

Well I can tell you this for surel. IT was torqued wrong. Took mine down and checked the specs on it from the people that put it back in. 60lbs on floaters! The others were around 80. Once I retorqed it back to Mcleod spec presto no more problems. That's my story and I'm stickin to it. :F Did you get it fixed yet?

Nope...its still not even close to being fixed. Its been about a week and a half or so...lost count already. After a week and no response I called them, they said they would return my call when the proper guy was in. Its been another 3days or so...no response. Same stuff that happened last time, so I was expecting this. Ill bring some life back to this post if/when something happens.

Also, cant blame this **** on my driving. I hardly even got to drive it in the first place. On top of that, I almost never ride the clutch. Maybe have once or twice on a super steep hill...but thats it. This must have been installed wrong like said many times already because no clutch should have looked like this...even if you did ride it all the time.

Well...McLeod wont replace it, figures! They said it was installed wrong and possibly torqued too much(like eveyone else said, duh). So I tell stropes what McLeod syas...and Stropes says" We torqued it specs, and you left with it running ok(the 2nd time, AFTER the initial ****ed up install they did)"..."did you take it out and and reinstall it during the last year and a half before this happened?"

I cant believe they had the nerve to ask/suggest that I took it out and reinstalled it wrong I know its from when they had **** all wrong the first time and had something ****ed up...I bet that destroyed/warped disks enough to cause my current problems.

Anyhow...I just got a new McLeod StreetTwin clutch/plate pack and another adjustable mastercylinder cause I accidentally rolled over the other one with a huge floor jack and broke part of it. I guess im going to get my McLeod Flywheel resurfaced because I dont want to spend another $400+ on another anchor.

This has been total hell just like the first time I got a Mcleod StreeTwin. If only another company made a clutch to hold lots of hp...I wouldnt have to buy this POS. Guess Im stuck with it for now. To top it all off, I just got ripped off on an engine and some parts.

Oh yeah, like last time...I had to pay shipping both ways to/from McLeod.
