Mass air Senser

I just read in Car Craft mag. that if you remove the screen on your Mass air you get more horse power with no problems it was in this months mag. Anybody ever do this without no problems???

Some do, some don't. Some run better, some worse. Don't damage it taking it out, so you can put it back in if needed. You might try a search, also.

I try doing a search and it doesnt work most of the time. I also just wanted to find out who did this mod. and if it worked. I need to learn how to adjust my firewall to let this in. Thanks for the info. Shoebox I tried to IM you it said you were offline.

No problem, thanks for your help and your website rocks I printed every info. that was on it. I just want to know with this topic who descreened and no problems + what yr car they had. I turned my firewall off and read the MAF screen search and boy is that mixed reviews.

it is mixed reviews.... some have had no problems, others have had problems... some say it's a good thing, others say it doesn;t matter...

Personally from an engineers standpoint it really depends...

the screen is used to straighten the airflow to allow the meter to correctly measure the flow going through it. In a typical CAI there is bends which effect the airflow and create turbulance... the only setup that I personally believe doesn't need the screen would be a WS-6/LS1 setup with a straight shot from the airbox through the MAF to the TB.
