Show me your custom T-56 floor jack mount

I need to make one before I pull the tranny out in a couple of weeks. Basically just something that will balance the tranny on a floor jack so that one person can get it out. I've taken the tranny out by myself the last two times, its a major pain. What have some people come up with to balance the tranny on the jack as you lower/raise it?

Thanks!

I just took mine out by myself sat. Just used regular old floor jack, got it balanced best i could and let it down slow. Like u I've had it out several times, havent dropped it yet. It would make it nicer, but, I cant see investing it a trans. jack, the car has to be on a lift to use one of those anyways( i think). Guess u could wrap a chain or something around the tranny and jack somehow, but I'll just stick with redneck way I guess, its worked good so far

They make transmission adapters for floor jacks. They run about 50$ around here and adapt to any transmission. Check JCwhitney they have a pic of it. I have one and I love the thing. Plus its not limited to 1 kind f tranny. I even used it on a rear end I had. They do make lift jacks but those are totally different and they are on poles. ?

Like others said I just balance mine on there. I know if my 130lb behind can get the tranny out by myself anyone can.

They do make transmission adapters though, basically a flat plate that replaces the round pad.

When I took mine down I just took a piece of 2x4 about 14-16in. long and balanced it on the jack, and then found the balance point under the tranny. Worked fine for me.

I got a floor jack and tranny adapter from Harbor Tools for less than $90. Money well spent. I use the floor jack all the time.
