Manifold (stock ) LT1
Manifold (stock ) LT1
i drive a 1994 chevy camaro with the LT1 in it and i have now just heard the leak coming from my exhaust dont know wher it is yet because i have not had it on a hoist to see but is it a long task to pull the stock manifold out and replace or should i just put a set of headers on it?
Is the maniflod going to take as long as replacing my spark plugs and wires on my LT1 (8 1/2hrs) later?

If you're going to remove the manifold, don't put the stock one back on. Buy some good headers that are coated if you can't find the ones you want in stainless.
Soak all the bolts with something like PB Blaster for a few days. Don't just crank the bolts out. Use something like a wrench instead of a ratchet and rock the bolts slowly and carefully back and forth a little at a time. Done right and carefully so as to not break any off, the bolt removal task could take up to 2 hours.
Depending on the headers you pick, the hook up to the system may or may not be custom.
Once you have the headers on, be carefull in routing the wires to prevent burning. Sleeves are a good idea in some areas.
