Mallory 685 mounting locations...

Those of you who have the Mallory 685 ignition box, where do you have it mounted at?

I'm trying to find a good location to mount mine and need some ideas. I don't see anywhere under the hood suitable to locate the thing.

Just curious but it wouldn't hurt if it got wet under the hood would it?

Re: Mallory 685 mounting locations...

The problem with me putting it under the hood is that I do not have a Ram Air car, so my air intake tube runs into the driver's side fender area. That keeps me from mounting the box there, so it will have to go inside the car I guess.

By chance would anyone share a pic of their glove box with it mounted?

Re: Mallory 685 mounting locations...

ok, thanks.

I have some stuff in my glove box right now, and am at work as well, with the ignition at home, so I can't test fit it.

Granted, I haven't driven it for real extended periods of time yet or anything, but I have driven it for up to an hour in stop and go traffic with no AC and it mounted in my glove box and it's never given me any problems.

Re: Mallory 685 mounting locations...

Mine is in the glove box and gets pretty warm there as well. I have never had any problems with it I don't think. I am having one issue but only when I try to run the nitrous. When I use nitrous it will sometimes just freak out and not pull over 3500-4000 until I turn the car off and restart. Its like it is hitting a rev limiter. I suspect either the box or fuel pump. I never had this problem until I installed the box. I have gone over all the wiring countless time to confirm its not the box. All features work when not spraying. Anyone have any suggestion?
