QUOTE FROM DOGBOY
A4 With a stall convertor, rear gears, traction. who wants to shift.
DOGBOY I THINK MOST PEOPLE LIKE TO "SHIFT", and thats one big reason M6's Retail for a good $1000 more!!!!!!!!

M6 on street
M6 for fun at track
M6 on talking about your car
M6 on dyno
M6 for autocrossing

IF i could do one of those guys pissing on something, it definately would be pissing on an A4............

NOW OF COURSE IF YOU ARE ALL ABOUT BRACKET RACING, THEN THE A4 IS FOR YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HOWEVER IM NOT, AND MOST ARENT ALL ABOUT THE BRACKET RACING!

are you guys trying to change my mind????

great i had my mind set on a M6 but it's not getting alot of votes on this topic. okay i mostly race from low rolls(15-25 mph) and i also got this little pet peeve for gas mileage dont tell me to get a civic been there done that. i know that a z28 doesnt get good mileage but will a A4 suffer that much more than a M6? well im still thinking M6 bcuz i like shifting but it can b rather ignoring at times. i dunno.............

A4 all the way

Being a teenager, when people I meet and ask me about my car the first thing thay ask me is "Is it stick?" When i say no i get ragged on all the time. Until that is, they see me at the track. I can walk imports and stick camaros and firebirds with more mods all day. Id like to see and M6 run 4 13.6xx's in a row. Yea, i think not. But if Never raced in a straight line, whether it be at the track or a stoplight, i would have gotten an M6 just for the fun factor. Just my opinion!

im new just got my 94 z m6 stock and i have to say that a camaro or firebird are for fun.
whats the fun of having a 12 second car if u cant feel the power on the stick?
i had a 91 z auto 350 with many mods dynoed at 320hp/400 tq
and i can tell you that it was a fast car but not even close to be as much fun as my new 94z
thats my opinion so i dont see to point of having a camaro only to race
i see it as a toy you can race , cruise have fun etc i love my m6!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
47,xxx miles btw way

Food for thought:

The only thing that sets an F-Body, especially pre 98s is the body style itself.

It looks fast and is fast. And it sorta exemplifies the "muscle car" (straight-line performance) of a bygone era.

If you are paying any attention to what is going on now, you will know that every auto maker on the face of the earth is going back to high performance vehicles.

Many 6 cyl. 4-door sedans have in excess of 260 hp and some of the luxury jobs have in excess of 300 ponies. Mostly automatics.

A-4s and no doubt future auto shifting vehicles will reign when it comes to consistent gear changing and the better traction that goes with it. Ergo, better ETs.

If you have an A-4, then you're in good shape as far as the ET contest, but for those who still have the option, I believe that a stick is more fun to drive and provides better retail potential and better psycological appeal like the sports cars and muscle cars of yore. On the other hand, I'm old. JMHO

when my car was still a 6-speed and stock i never lost to one automatic, and it had cai, no cat, and a cat back.. I lost by about 1 car and it was a half hour after i had bought my car so i had no idea how to drive it yet... if you are looking for consistancy go with the auto.. looking for fun, go for the 6-speed..

Can you say " Never Ending Post " ?

Anyone who has a M6 will say it's faster, and anyone who has a A4 will say the same thing.

M6 has the " fun " factor but the A4 has consitancy. Most people who have manual tranmission cars don't know how to drive they just like to get tire noise into 2nd and 3rd.

But like I said I have yet to see a LT1 M6 out run a LT1 A4, unless it's a LS1 then the M6 is faster.

CODY - on the greater cincinnati track (edgewater) www.gcfba.com DDT ran a 13.4 with his 96 formula WS6 M6 with just a dynomax catback............. needless to say, but that would dust many auto's!!!! (TWO of my friends have LT1 A4's and they both run 14.1X's)

Also, just want to point another thing it, its OBVIOUS that 5 speed 4 bangers are faster (hondas etc) and you yourself said that stock LS1 M6's are faster......... then why the heck isnt the LT1 M6 faster ?!?!?!?
