main and rod bearing replacement

Hey Members,
How difficult is it to change rod and main bearings in my
94 lt1. I would like to be able to do this with the engine in the vehicle. I am
very used to removing the oil pan and pump. I am ultimately looking to increase my oil pressure.

I don't feel it is ever advisable to try to do it this way. It might be ok for a shade tree repair on an old beater truck, but not for this. If you are going to go to the trouble, the engine should be removed and clearances checked and any necessary machining done. Otherwise, your repair probably won't be worth the trouble.

I agree with Rob 100%. However, the 94 service manual has an entire section on in-vehicle service of the LT1 engine, which includes rod and crank bearing replacement. It describes how to make the measurements and how to select the size of the service bearings.. I would read it carefully.
