I am getting 4 bolt main caps from pro grams. I need to know if i should get the 12 degree or the 22 degree splayed for the outer to bolts on these caps.

This is going to be on my 383 BTW.


I talked to programs and they said that it is easier to install the 12 degree set, however im not going to install them. I asked the difference between the 2 types and they said that 22 degree caps are stronger, but I guess the block will fail before either type of main cap will.

That being said I am trying to get some info from people that have built a few 4 bolt main LT1 motors and seen them fail and where around the caps.

Any help would be great.
