Maf problem

I thought my MAF had gone bad. When the MAFis pluged in the car will not run. When unpluged it will run fine. So I bought another MAF and I still have the same problem. Any Ideas what this might be?
The car is A 95 A4.
Thnaks in advance Mike Fitzgerald

Re: Maf problem

You should have the car scanned for error codes, they'll point you to the system that's failed. Also check your intake track for air leaks, if air in getting to the throttle body by bypassing the MAF, your air/fuel ratio will be off big time causing the engine to stumble or stall.

Re: Maf problem

Make sure you have power to the MAF on the pink wire when the key is on (engine does not have to be started. Make sure the blk/wht wire has a ground on it.
