MAF orientation question
MAF orientation question
Hey guys....I have a question ....Anyone personally know if there's any change "AT ALL" in anything when a Factory LT1 MAF meter's orientation is changed, such as being run completely up-side down (airflow is still going through it in the same direction, of-course).........I've been running mine completely upside down for several years now and I can't tell any difference at all , but I was just wondering about it..........In-case your wondering: My MAF meter housing is positioned like this now since my (previous) NOS dry style nitrous kits nozzle used to be mounted directly "on top" of it (when the MAF was orientated in the correct factory position)....but now that I run a wet kit with a single shark nozzle(which is higher than my old short dry nozzle), the hood would hit the fogger and braided lines when shut......so rather than re-tapping a new hole in the MAF meter housing for the fogger, it's just flipped over with my shark nozzle on the bottom.......Like I said, I can see no difference at all, but since the factory MAF's (inside) have two sensors on one side , and just the one sensor on the other...I was wondering if flipping it changed anything............thanks............Joe
I couldn't see how it matters. If I remember right, the PCM measures how much voltage it takes to keep the resistors at a certian temp. (as the air will cool them down) Couldn't see how orientation would matter.
