MAF 12 V wire

hey guys...specifically injuneer or turbo Z (who responded to my last post)...I tested the connector today when i got the car back, and the pink wire isn't reading any voltage...so my question is does that pink wire come off the PCM...and if so where on the PCM...and if not...can i splice the pink wire to another 12V power source? Thanks a lot for your help...it is greatly appreciated.

PCM C2-black pin 19. You just need to trace it in the wiring harness. There is probably a bad junction. You can temporarily wire it to a switched 12v source to make it work.

Re: MAF 12 V wire

can i splice a wire from the C2 black pin #19 and run that to the pink wire and splice it there...just wondering if that would save the trouble of tracing through all the electrical tape GM used to hold the wires together

also...would it be worth it to try rebuilding the connector first??

Re: MAF 12 V wire

I'm sorry, I was in a hurry when I replied before. The PCM pin is for the signal wire, not the 12v wire. I am leading you down the wrong path.

The same power source also feeds the O2 sensors and some other things. There is a splice in the harness that the book says is 22mm from the transmission breakout. I don't know which side of the breakout, though. The trans breakout is back by the EGR pipe at the back of the engine. So, if those other things are working, you are losing the power somewhere between that point and the MAF.
You can get an idea about the harness here. I would go back into the harness and keep checking along the wire to see where power is lost. If you want to fix it right, you are going to have to get into the harness.
