Machining question per 6.0 rods?!?
I was just curious if there was any special machine work required if I decided to go with 6.0 rods instead of the 5.7 rods.
I was looking at SBC Chevy 6.000" Eagle SIR 5140 Steel I-Beam Connecting Rods. Press fit pins.
And if not, is there anything required to do differently than the 5.7's?

Really? I thought you could interchange the rods with whatever pistons you would like within reason. IE: the 6.0 rods with the forged pistons that come with the summit kit, or 6.0 rods with SRP pistons or JE etc...?
Maybe I am more lost than I thought. I thought as long as the dish size was made for you engine's cylinder walls it would be fine. The longer the rod the less wear and tear on the rod because the stroke isnt so long.
The only two things I have to worry about are the piston height so I do not go too far up in the cylinder wall and the valves hit the piston.
And then I have to make sure that the piston overall width is spec per the bore size.
Please someone correct me or fill me in on what I am mis-interpeting.

I am actually speaking with Frank from gofastparts.com right now trying to decide which route I want to go. 6.0 would give me a little more compression correct? So instead of 10.4 it would be closer to 11? I am looking for as much possible since this is gonna be a N/A beast.
Also he is suggesting the hypereutectic piston kit that he sells for 700 and some change.
I just want to make sure I am not gipping myself on the rods/pistons for a 400 HP N/A motor. But if the hypereutectic pistons will work I defiantly dont want to spend more on something I wont need.

Yah, he sells the 383 version kit of what I want to go with for my 355, however I want to stick with the 355 due to clearancing issues with the 383 which causes much more needed parts.. Well, it may not, but I would want to make sure I did it right and would purchase the other personal insurance parts for my own mind sake.
