MAC catback owners inside
I've been searching for the last two days for info about the MAC 94-95 catback (P/N# TKC396) and I need some better clarification if any of you own it. First of all, I really like the fact that every joint is flanged, there are no band clamps required in the catback. Second, I spent a while on the phone with someone from MAC inquiring as to their muffler design and expected HP gains. They gave me the diplomatic salesperson answer. "Our design is patented, Magnaflow basically stole it without stealing it, and you can expect 18hp at the rear wheels from it." That's all fine and good, but I understand they redesigned this catback about a year ago, and I can't seem to find anyone who presently owns it. I enjoy the look and it appears it will last a good long while (so long as I'm patient with polishing the tips often enough). But for $340, would I be better off with this catback? My other choices at this point are the SLP 2OTL (last resort) or the Hooker Catback. What are your thoughts?
Thanks,
Bryan
Thanks,
Bryan
I had the mac catback a few years ago, but got rid of it because some of the baffles in the muffler came loose and then bought the hooker cat back. The mac with resonators sounded better to me than the hooker. I think when they redesigned it they took care of the muffler problem. I've read of a few other members who had the same problem.
