LTCC Install Instructions

"maybe2fast" has obtained a copy of the LTCC install instructions from "TurboBob" Bailey. Bob has also indicated he will review and add to the instructions as necessary. We look forward to receiving an updated version.

Owners of the LTCC system are encouraged to post their experiences with the install, and as many pictures as possible.

re: LTCC Install Instructions

My biggest hang-up in the entire install was that I was missing the addendum 3.0.

I had a problem with the "white" EST signal wire(s) there are 2 white wires attached to the LTCC module. One is for a tach wire on the old cars 92-93 vettes and 93 F-body and the other is the correct "white wire" (no tracer). There are sharpy marks on the base of the wires but the instructions do not distinguish these. Also there is a similar situation with the yellow 2-step wires. Same sharpy tracer on the base of the yellow wire. I hooked up the correct white wire and the car started right up. (I had them at first both connected and then the wrong one...trial and error).

re: LTCC Install Instructions

Installation Notes:

I used the factory coil ground to ground the new coil packs, its located at the coil/ICM area, the same area as the pink 12v positive wire.

Since I have an LS1 lid intake I mounted the control module to the block off plate for the factory induction system in the front drivers side area under the headlight.

I used Magnacore wires, I shortened them myself using my original set. LS2/LS3 coils are what I am using for coils.

I used Proform LS Ignition Coil Brackets 69521 (different brackets for different coils) to create a fuel rail cover look. There was trimming involved to make them work with around the MAP sensor and the fuel lines. The 4 fuel rail bolts are what was used to attach them to the engine.

I did similar using the 4 bolts that hold the fuel rail. Here is my bracket. I constructed it out of 11guage stainless.

And in car.

Then there's the "out of sight" approach. Not an LTCC install, but does use 8 LS1 coils.

Install Notes: The Vortec 8100 (Silverado 2500HD) wires are longer versions of the LS coil wires 14" vs 9-10" and could be an economical way to quickly get wires.

Proform and install pictures to follow

re: LTCC Install Instructions

This new ignition system continues to amaze me! The car is so much better mannered and drives with so much more response and power.

I ordered some spark plug wire separators or in my case gatherers. Will post pictures for reference to work with Pacesetter Longtubes.

Re: LTCC Install Instructions

Hey everyone I installed the LTCC kit on my 1994 z28 camaro and all it does is just crank. I have checked every wire and everything on the car is new and everything is hooked up correctly. I’ve talked to a guy that knows everything about these kits and lt1 engines and he doesn’t understand what’s going on either. He said my LTCC module could be bad or my new optispark is bad. When I turn the key on the red and green lights inside the LTCC module come on and than go off and than when I start cranking the car the green light comes on and stays on and than after about 20 seconds of cranking the red light flashes 4 times. Anyone have any ideas? I’ve read the code manual but I’ve literally replaced everything on the car and checked every wire with a multimeter, test light and everything checks out. Fuses, fuel and all. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
