LTCC has solid green light and fire on every coil but car still won't crank

I had a factory opti decide to drop both button screws and tear up the rotor button. I took the opti apart and cleaned it up and the disk looked fine. so i decided to use it with the LTCC i just bought. when i installed the ltcc i get the quick red light , showing it is getting power. then the steady green light while cranking. i checked for spark on all the coils and they are all firing. so i am wondering if the optical sensor is bad and not putting out a valid signal. it sounds like it has jumped timing. we all know the disk can only be put on 1 way. the disk was super flat and the opti was smooth and easy to turn by hand. anyone got any ideas? or can you buy just a optical sensor and disk somewhere instead of a entire opti?

Was your car running before you put on the LTCC? If not it might be a bad cam sensor...but if you are getting spark...

Are you getting fuel? Do you have an injector pulse?

If its anything like my delteq, I would be willing to bet it grounds to the engine too, so it would have to be bolted down to work.

the car died when the rotor button screws fell out on a factory opti. i haven't checked for a injector pulse, since i had it before the rotor button fell off. as far as grounds, i have it grounded to the factory ground stud on the driver side head. i tested the ground with a ohm meter and it's fine.

I had an opti once do that... I dropped them and the spinning parts ground them up some...putting metal pieces on the magnet portion on the cam sensor. Its possible it's creating a screwed up signal.

An engine needs air, fuel and spark to run. If you have good spark, check fuel...then air... keep in mind if you have all 3, you wont run if it's not all in time. But it would least cough and hiccup during cranking...

very possible for the sensor to be trashed then. i was hoping someone with a LTCC would speak up and say "yeah mine did that" saving unnecessary work. thats for the input dhirocz. guess i'll be looking for a sensor and disk instead of an entire opti.

check for injector pulse first. It was just a possability... but it happened to me once. Also sometimes the bearings in the back go back, causing the same problem, especially if the dowel pin in the cam is too long on a vented opti.

Double check your LTCC install too...

What year is the engine? That would at least let people know whether you have a vented of unvented Opti. When you "repaired" the Opti, did you remove it completely? If so, did you verify the Opti was indexed correctly?

Makes sense to use a "signature" with basic info about your car.

the car is a 96 with a obdI computer with a vented opti. yes, i had the opti off completely and i reused the optical sensor and disk. also the opti was installed dead on as far as the dowel pin is concerned. the car was running fine until the rotor button screws came loose.
after buying the LTCC i thought the optical sensor would fine to use. i have a extra optical sensor in another opti. so i was thinking about swapping the sensor out tomorrow.
