LTCC grounds
LTCC grounds
One of the first things I saw when I open the box for my LTCC conversion was the warning about needing good grounds. My question is, I plan on grounding the ground wire on each of the coil primary wires. buy does the coil itself need to be grounded?
The bracket setup I will be using will mount to the valve covers and most likely will not be very well grounded. Should I worry about grounding out the coils themselves, or will the provided grounds be enough?

Re: LTCC grounds
I have the coils mounted on top of the valve covers which I guess provides all metal to metal contact and a good ground. I even have a few of the wiring harness grounds to the same mounting points and I haven't had any problems in the two years I've been running the LTCc.
Re: LTCC grounds
I ran a setup that looks like the corvette rail covers, made of sheet metal. It attached at the fuel rails and I grounded 2 coils per bolt of the fuel rail...It worked fine and never had an issue...But I would most definately ground the coils, or you'll run into an issue with them either not firing or firing really weakly.
