Lt5 Crate?!

Ok now I know I'm not living under a rock so where in the heck did this beast come from? I have never seen anything quite like this until today...anyone ever seen one of these in a 4th gen body? Cause I think this would look damn good sitting in my '95.
ROCK ON!!!

I am pretty sure the heads wont fit between the stock shock towers.

And it is deffinatly not cost effective. You might as well build one hell of a stroker motor.

Good luck getting it to fit.

ZR-1 Corvette motor, DOHC, 32 valve, 405 (I think) horsepower. Awesome endurance motor, and powerful too. Too expensive, though.

Uhhhhm, what car did it come from? The 90-95 ZR1 Corvette. Where are you seeing an LT5 crate motor for sale? I've never seen one in a 4th gen, probably because the engine alone is worth more that the average LT1 4th gen. An LT5 crate motor sells for around $15K I believe, if you can buy one anywhere.

Those engines are extremely rare and too valuable for anything other than an LT5 restoration project or show car. Let the Vette restorers have those engines. One can make plenty of power with an LT1/4 or LS1/6 engine for far less money invested.

Ha, I live like 6 miles from the dealer who's selling those. If anybody wants one, I'd be more than happy to go pick it up for you...

that's awesome, i wish i could afford to put a motor together and display it in my house...but as it is i have all my money in the new one. But I would definately put one in the Z if I had the means to do so. A great looking piece of machinery.

Oh dear Lord some of those guys over there have money coming outta their a$$es

It's a pristine 11,000 mile LT5, matching numbers, out of my car....why sell it now and regret it later? And why store it where no one can see it?
I have to admit that does make one hell of a cool conversation piece!

If I read right, that guy with the LT5 coffee table is a Radiation Oncologist (Cancer Treatment Specialist). You can bet he's going to have even more $$$ to spend in the very near future. It's all about the job, pick the right one, give it everything you've got and you might just be in his boat.
