LT4 Starter looks differen

I bought an LT4 starter a while back & finally got around to installing it today on my 97 Z28 M6. Looking at the old LT1 starter, they seem to look VERY different. I ordered the LT4 from the Chevy Dealership recommended on here.

Here are a couple of pics of the two.

Is there anything that needs to be done to modify the LT4 starter to work for an M6 Fbody? Thanks!

It's a direct bolt on. Functionality is the same, though it's shape is a little different. Most high torque starters look like that.

Where did you pick that up at? I've been looking for an LT4 version for a while..I passed up a good deal a while back, and have been kicking myself ever since. PM what it cost, if you dont mind.

The LT4 starters used to be a real good deal, but some time ago they about doubled in price.

Thanks Shoe. Just wanted to make sure. Just put it on & it bolted right up.

The guy's name is Jason Cromer. I paid about $230 (can't remember for sure) for mine about 6 months ago. Here is the contact info link
