LT4 Knock Module/What is it?/What's it do?/Will it help me?
Re: LT4 Knock Module/What is it?/What's it do?/Will it help me?
If you found out all that info, why did you ask that last question?
You can't trust the "butt'o'meter".
The gain felt is usually proportional to the money you spent. The only way to prove a difference is with a before and after dyno run or in the case of knock. monitoring it with a scanner to verify it's presence, but as long as you are happy, that is good.
Where are you getting all this information about "MSD coil packs, MSD opti"? What coil packs do you refer to? MSD only makes a cap and rotor. It would be foolish to swap that out when you have a brand new opti.
There is nothing wrong with Rapidfires-not sure why you say what you do about them.

IMO, before you spend any money on a LT4 Knock Module (what do they cost now... about $40 discounted?) find out if you actually NEED one. You have a modded car and because of that, you could definitely use a scan tool. If I were you, I'd put my $40 towards a cable (your cheapest route) so you can use a free program and a laptop. If you don't want to do that, spend a little more and get a ScanMaster... they are around $250.
People seem to often times buy the LT4 knock module without even knowing if they could benefit from it
Granted, it isn't a lot of money but if you don't already have a scan tool, your money is better spent IMO investing in one of those instead

I didn't buy it, it was free, and plus, where can I get this wire huh? I could use this free program (what's the name of it) and use my Desktop PC if I rolled it into my garage right? I have already had it dyno tuned and everything and I do need the knock module cuz it's a heavily modded car besides my stock heads. I searched and got the info I just posted here cuz I wanted to hear what people that have actually used it thought cuz you can't always trust what a seller says to you.

But, you really can't say you NEED it unless you scan the car and can see that you are getting knock retard and then also verify it is false. After you do that, then you can say you really need it

You can use your desktop PC and roll it to the garage. Many of the cables I've seen come with plenty of cable to leave the computer on a nearby cart. I looked for OBDII cables at our supporting vendor sites and didn't see that they offered any. However, I've bought one from this guy before and his cables are very good....

Thnx, but I can feel that my car has alot of vibration in the engine, but I'd say it wouldn't hurt to install it newayz just incase it did have false knock even after testing.
