Lt4 Km?

I'm waiting on this from pcmsforless but I have read that it will give you 4 mph in the quarter with this after hotcam install......Is that true? Those who had this put in aftercam install....Did it make a big difference? I fell like my car should be a lot faster than it is....but I don't know what's wrong with it......Thanks

The only way you will get any performance gain with the LT4 KM is if you were getting a performance degradation before putting it in. It does not add power, it merely restores power that could be lost due to false knock and the resulting spark retard.

There is no way you get 4mph with the LT4 km. As a matter of fact you probably won't get even 1. The utility of the KM is questionable at best.

I ran it for a while without success. Replaced it back with my stock LT1 KM an have been running with that for 2 years. If anyones car should be making strange noises (compared to stock) it should be mine.

P.S. anyone who claims a gain like this should be banned from all forms of public media........

what is wrong with your car? What are you basing this feeling of it being slow off of?

If I had to guess I would say it should be in the 340-350rwhp range and running somewhere in the 108-110mph range in the 1/4 mile.

Hmm.... You in texas? Add about 10-20hp and 1-2 mph to this data. For some reason texas is "special" with regard to their results. :-)

Do you have proffessional tuning on it?

That's a good one!

Seriously though, I thought the LT4 KM was needed when adding RR's, headers, cam to prevent timing retard from more engine noise? Has anyone ever done a dyno or track test with and without one and seen a difference?
