LOL ...forged crank and rods.
I don't mean to bash the LT4 setup, it's just not what I would do. It's a safe bet that takes a lot of guesswork out of it and isn't really overpriced ....IMO it's just not the best bang for the buck though, like a custom cam with Lloyd's best work for example. One advantage of the Hotcam is that the relatively low lift and gentle ramp angles save some wear and tear on the valvetrain. They do have a nice sounding idle too.
I'd rather use rockers with guideplates though.

Actually the lt1s have forged rods and crank to where as the ls1 only has a forged crank.... so in all reality the lt1 is better for blower aplication.
The 70's LT-I was forged but not the late model ones.

not one person suggested nitrous? nitrous would be perfect for his goals..inexpensive..power when he wants it..and will be much safer then a s/c on stock internals..lt1's love juice..go with a nitrous express wet kit 100 shot...you will never look back and wouldnt regret the decision one bit
