Do a little reading on the LT4 intake, you might be supprized to find out how special it ISN'T and should help answer your question.

Re: Lt4 intake maifold question

If the heads are ported and the manifold is matched, yes. That's what's going on my new motor. As cast to as cast I don't believe they'll match up though.

Re: Lt4 intake maifold question

Why do you two think it wont fit???? The LT4 intake ports are the same size and location as the LT1.

MOST people believe the LT4 intake is very different when in reality there is a little more aluminum on top of the ports and it is red, not the earth shattering differences you previously believed huh?

That has to do with the valve cover rail on the LT1 heads and the additional material on top of the ports of the LT4 intake. The ports are still the same size and location. I do not know if the Trickflows would have that interference but if they do have the rail cutback. If you have the intake milled to clear the LT1 valvecover rail you destroy every potential benifit the LT4 intake could have had if ported to taller head ports. Don't listen to me though SEARCH on what the differences are between the LT1 and LT4 intakes. The reason why so many posts like this get so few good replies is the poster never bothers to search and then they themselves or one of the wrong people argues with the person giving useful info. That is why I tried to raise more questions than give answers, you guys wont listen anyway hence pointing at the search. I learned what I know on this and a couple other forums the info is here for those who care to find it.

Now I have not seen direct info on LT4 intake with Trickflow heads, BUT once you understand the differences between the LT1 and LT4 intake you have a MUCH better understanding of what the potential issues are and how easily they are remidied or wether it is worth persueing atall. Spoonfeeding yes and no answers does little good, make people THINK and the whole hobby can continue to move forward.

Re: Lt4 intake maifold question

I am running the LT4 intake and Trickflow heads on my 355"LT1. The Trickflows are raised runner heads designed to be used with the LT4 intake. There is alot of material that needs to be removed from the intake to make it flow enough to support the ported Trickflows. Later Clint
