Stock LT4 heads are not going to generate impressive numbers. You need to get them ported.

LT4 383 with only a valve job, no porting. XE 224/236 -> 368rwhp

i will work good, but like he said, ported.

370rwhp with a nitrous cam and stock heads is pretty good.
the extra cubes aint givin you much hp, just tq

 

My daily driver setup is a camm'd 350, i love it.

But i assume you meant the 383 which is owned by my cousin. We are in the process of getting a new top end for it. I went to Bret Bauer for advice on the new topend combo and he is getting some AFR's ported. The heads should outperform this 383 he built but it's someone elses bottom end and we won't really know till its all done and strapped on a dyno

IMO its dissapointing to see a car with a completely built motor barely outperform a stock lt1+cam. The car went mid 12s but hasn't been to the track enough to see its full potential since its a street car, as is mine in my sig.

 

I like Bret's setup, you can see where the stroke does its job, the hp and tq are close. if i had they money i would let him build me a motor too.
