Question LT4 intake, with cam

Im wondering if it is worth putting on a LT4 intake if you are just going to change a cam and not touch the heads. Thanks guys

An LT4 intake wouldn't work with stock LT1 heads...

There's an interference between the LT4 intake manifold and LT1 heads near the valve cover rail. Either the intake or the heads need to be machined.

But, it won't do you any good... for all practical purposes, the LT4 intake is no different than the LT1. Although the LT4 heads have 0.100" raised intake runners, the LT4 intake does not. It just has extra metal at the top to allow the intake manifold ports to be ported to match the head ports. And even raising the intake manifold ports and using the intake with LT1 heads would leave you with a "ledge" that would hurt flow more than help it.

Search for posts by "Arnie".... he has all the info, and links to a couple photos.
