Whats needed to install an LT4 intake on an LT1 if anything... How much gain would this yield on a bolton blown 383 stroker?

You'll need to get some machining done for the LT4 intake to fit on your LT1 heads.

I'd spend my money elsewhere.

There performance is pretty much identical, just meant for different heads. Its not like switching from an LS1 to an LS6 intake.

LT1 Intake goes with LT1 heads...

LT4 Intake goes with LT4 heads...

If you swap to the LT4 Intake and heads, the LT4 conversion kit will get you 425 HP at the fly.

at the wheels? i'd worry about the conversion's ability to reach 425 hp at the FW first.

At the wheels varies... AT or MT
Take 425 less 18-22% for AT
Take 425 less 14-16% for MT

i was just stating that its not really the heads that account for the real gain. the intake really accounts for no gains, its just made to fit the lt4 heads.

A MoTec ECU will also help get to the 425 number. It seems everyone remembers the magic HP number possible with the conversion but not how the tuners achieved that number.

Not complete if you are expecting 425 flywheel HP. I believe in this 1998-99 engine dyno test, MORE Performance also included a larger throttle body, larger injectors, a $3,000+ aftermarket ECU, and long tube headers. They got 429HP on the engine dyno. The article documenting this test was reprinted in Pontiac Performance magazine in the past year, but failed to mention all the "extras".

Not saying you can't get 425HP.... only that not all the parts are included.

Well whats the first mods to get an lt1 moving

Better question whats the first cheaper things to do to an lt1 to get power.

I know LTs, cutout, converter, and what other bolt ons prove good hp for the dollar? What has shown the largest gains for you guys in an auto.

Thanks for clearing up the lt4 intake situation. I just thought it was like the ls1/ls6 intake swap.

for money cams are a good way to go. downside is to keep it good for money, youd have to put it in yourself.

52mm tb would help a lot. do a k&n air filter.

the best bang for the buck is nitrous. with a stock bottom end i would suggest a 100 shot. i personally recommend TNT, but i like Nitrous Express too. Make sure to run all the safty stuff, and dont get nuts and run huge shots.
