LT4 hot cam kit springs and 1.7 rr?!?

will it work, i cant seem to find a definite answer... they say the max lift on them should be .525 and the 1.7s bring it up to .558 but not a lot of talk against it... but every where i see some thread where some people talk about doing it... does it work or will i float like a dead body in a lake?

btw i have the hot cam kit

I don't think it will work. The springs are borderline for just a HOT CAM. You will need some springs.

No, the hotcam springs are just barely enough for 1.6RRs with the Hotcam. You could use the hotcam springs with 1.7s on a stock LT1/4 cam, but that would be it.

Also, one thing to remember on the LT4/hotcam springs. They were designed with the LT4 valves in mind, which is why a lot of people say they are weak for the hotcam kit. The LT4 comes with lighter hollow intake and exhaust valves (exhaust are sodium & potassium filled for heat reduction).

That is quite an interesting statement.... I think that I will buy my valvetrain stuff piece by piece. Perhaps some slightly stiffer springs and a cc305 with 1.6rrs. Not sure. I should probably just wait to send my heads to Lloyd Elliot.
