With 4.11s at 80 in OD you'll be turning around 3000rpm. You'd be better off with 3.42s or 3.73s in a purely street car.

I have a set of 4.11s for my 12 bolt which currently has 3.73s. I also am running the CC306. I have been tempted many times to put in the 4.11s! But I haven't. I have heard pros and cons from both sides. My mechanic that helps me out w/ everything swears on his life that I will regret it, lol

Street driving, dragstrip, sure! Highway, holy cow! It would probably be around 3500@75-80.

Everyone has a different defenition of streetable. I have a friend with a 4spd '69 Camaro with 4.10s that he drives every day.

That said, if you spend a lot of time in town it will be a lot more streetable with 4.11s than it would be with 3.42s, if you spend most of your time on the highway then reverse that.

I think i have my answer, light highway driving, mostly around town,4.11 will do. I've been looking at that two speed gear that bolts on to the rear of the trans also, I think with 4.11's and that 2 speed ... i would have the best of both worlds, then again maybe just the 2 speed mod without the 4.11, the only problem is the cost it's a little over 2 grand for the 2 speed.... but for a 4l60e , i think that would be the cats booty

Is there an OD gear change( internally in the trans) that can be done to help out top end?

Have your tranny rebuilt with different clutch packs and I forget what else, but my older camaro with 4.10's and a th400 I got real sick of being at 3000rpm's at 80 miles an hour!!! Get a 6-speed and it will be ok..
