LT4 Hot cam

Hey, I have an oppurtunity to get an LT4 hot cam kit for my car for pretty cheap. I just don't know how worth it it'll be cause my motor is competely stock. I have just about every bolt but no internal motor work done. How effective would it be to put the new cam in? Do you think I would see much HP gain? Thanks for any input.

Well how cheap is pretty cheap? Because if it is a really good deal you can get it. But that doesn't mean you have to install it. You can wait untill you get some more mods. If it isn't a much better price then normal then i would just wait and get yourself a CAI and a catback exhaust with the money you have if you don't get the hotcam kit. WIthout the car breathing good and without headers and a catback you won't see much gain from the cam.

Yeah, I already have longtube headers and the CAI. Thats why I'm considering doing the hotcam. I've been reading on here and I think I'm going to look in to the XE cc306 cam before I buy anything though. BTW, guy said I could get the hot cam for $120, its brand new so thats why I'm thinking its a good deal.

Cams don't really go bad, so I'd just find a used one in the For Sale section and save yourself a few bucks...

Even used you won't be able to find a Hotcam for $120. That's a good buy for a brand new cam.

The Hotcam can make very good power with a decent set of heads and a good tune. Since the car in question is predominantly stock, the Hotcam isn't a bad choice.
