LT4 exhaust recirculation?

The LT4 did not use an EGR valve for emissions, but still retains the tube from the exhaust to the back of the intake.
What is it for?
Any problem with deleting it for a track only car?

The LT4 intake manifold has all the provisions for EGR, including the mount for the EGR valve, and the connection for the exhaust gas riser tube from the passenger side exhaust manifold. Get plates/gaskets to block both those openings off. Technically, all you need to block is the one for the EGR valve hole, but blocking both of them sort of provides two methods of preventing a vacuum leak. Try sjmmanufacturing.com for the blocking plates.

We sell the EGR block-off plates for a very reasonable price.
