LT4 cam on stock LT1?

I found a good deal on a used LT4 cam and am wondering if I can use it with an otherwise stock engine? Meaning stock springs, rockers, heads, manifolds. I realize I won't get the full benefit from the cam, but I just need to know if it will work and how high I'll be able to rev if it does work. Thanks.

Re: LT4 cam on stock LT1?

If you mean LT4 HotCam, you ought to replace the springs.

If you mean LT4 stock cam, it is milder than the stock LT1 cam.

not exactly true the lift and duration are very close but the lt4 cam has a 115 lobe sep vs.116,117.5 that the lt1s come with stock.
the lt4 hot cam is advised to use the bigger springs, especially if you are using the 1.6 rockers,i would also change the timing chain.
