IMO- Don't waste your time with the stock LT4 cam. Put the hotcam kit on and enjoy.

I didn't know anyone installed the actual LT4 cam, if you are going to all that trouble I would certainly do the hotam. I've heard a lot of LT4 Vette guys will pull that cam for the Hotcam.

Stock LT4 cam is a waste of time. Even the Hotcam is pretty tame. Driveability with the hotcam will be fine, save a few bucks for a dyno tune when you're done and enjoy.

I think really your choices should be limited to LT4 Hotcam or stay stock and just do bolt-ons...... The stock LT4 cam is too weak to waste your time swapping it in, IMO....

If you want to keep the gas mileage you have now and lose NO mileage, then don't change cams, just do bolt-ons, which, if anything, will increase efficiency..... headers, cold-air intake, cat-back, programming, all the tricks... you can get pretty fast without changing the cam and retain your mileage.

Mir, from what I've heard, most people lose only 1-2 mpg with Hot Cam. Go for it!
