Is it ok to use the original lifters when installing the LT4 hotcam?? I am going to put one on my 1990 Iroc-Z with the 350 TPI engine. I have a set of ZZ4 heads with LT4 springs that are going on the motor too. The motor has 130K miles and I was wondering whether it would be better to get new lifters (since the hotcam kit does not include lifters) ---and if so, where is the best place to get them at a reasonable price???? Yes, you can reuse the lifters provided they are not worn or otherwise broken.

 

Even after 130K????---I would imagine a new set would be better---of coarse the $$$$$ for them is steep!!!! Where is the best place to get them for a good price?????

 

If those are the original lifters with 130k on them I would replace them to be safe. I reused mine when I did the hotcam but they only had 57K on them. The cheapest place you could probably get new stock lifters would be someone like Jason Cromer he sells GM parts at near dealer cost.

As for the cars, you can never have enough!

 

I re-used mine. They had 80,000 on them. But when I do heads I will be replacing them.
