No ses codes. Idles good. opti is new. Driving the car it feels like the exhaust is plugged, but it really isnt but im just sayin if u drive the car that is how it feels. Key on engnie off fuel psi is 35. I can keep primeing it to go up to like 45 psi. when the car is running and I rev it the fuel Psi drops. The fuel presure regulator and the fuel filter are ok. What do i need to check next?

Do you have cats? If so, I would disconnect one of the AIR fittings and see if it gets any better.

 

Its not the exhaust. I have headers, no cats, and a bullet muffler.

No its not the maf either. I am looking for the fuel pump ground. Where is it located, like where does it bolt and strap to?

Have you had a fuel pressure gauge on the car while driving it down the road?

Also, stuiped question, are you sure it has plenty of fuel? I've seen that happen before.

 

Sounds very similar to what happened on my friend's L98.

Change your fuel filter and see if that fixes the problem.

 

Not sure if they are connected but the fuel pressure should increase when the engine is reved up. Just like pulling the hose off the pressure regulator, as the engine speeds up, the vacuum level decreases and the fuel pressure rises.

I would look into the fuel pump since you say you can keep priming it to up the pressure. The pressure should come up to max the first time unless you have air in the lines.

 

NOt nessisarly true, if you are at a stop with no load on the motor more RPM will mean more vaccum which will pull down the fuel pressure even more. If your under load and the fuel pressure drops than you have a problem.

 

TTT car has over a half tank of gas in it. problem is with or without a load.
