I tried a search, and can't find anyone else who has had this issue before.

After replacing the head gaskets in my 95 Impala, the car will only start and run on the first attempt. It starts up, sounds great, but once I turn off the car it won't restart.

After disconnecting the battery to reset the PCM, the car will start again, but only one time.

I have fuel pressure (gauge) and I am getting spark to the plugs. I guess I need a noid light to see if my injectors are firing. I also need to check and see if there are any codes.

What code could prevent the car from re-starting?

I'm stumped, any ideas are welcome.

Since you said ANY ideas, how about a bad ground? Since it didn't do that before you took the heads off, and reseting the computer fixes it temporarily, I would check there first.

 

Did you scan it for codes?
