LT1 vs LT4 harmonic dampener

The LT4 harmonic dampener is a dual-mass unit, and the LT1 has a single mass unit. My guess is there is a different harmonic at the higher rpm.

Is there any advantage to putting a LT4 dampener on an LT1 that has been modified (heads, cam ,and such)?

Any disadvantage?

I don't think it could hurt. Not sure what the LT4 unit costs but it might be a good alternative to the pricey aftermarket LT1 balancers.

I got a low-mileage LT4 dampener in a swap for an CD ignition system.

I think both the LT1 and LT4 dampeners run close to $400 GM list price -- not cheap.

If you race sanctioned, the GM dampner may not pass inspection.
