Post LT1 vs LS1 drive shaft

Just curious what the difference between the two may be. If there is a performance difference. Thanks

Most LT1's came with steel shafts and most LS1's came with aluminum shafts. The lighter aluminum shafts get just a few more horse to the wheels and are less prone to vibration problems, but are also more prone to breakage at the strip.

If you don't have a vibration problem I probably wouldn't put any extra effort into picking up an LS1 shaft and if you drag race with slicks I would invest in a stronger shaft or stick with the steel.

Get a 1le if your gonna get an aluminum drive shaft. Stronger than the LS1, higher critical speed which means less vibrations at lower speeds.
