Re: lt1 vs ls1

A full bolt-ons LT1 should put you with or ahead of a stock LS1. You also have to factor in that not all of them are stock either and they respond just as well to bolt-on mods.

Get some LT's, 3.73's, and a tune and you should be able to give em a pretty good run (Stock LS1's to LS1's w/ catback and Lid)

Also put some fairly sticky tires under there. Nitto 555's maybe?

Re: lt1 vs ls1

Well I am hopeing I can walk a LS1 SS or Ws6 quiet easily when I am done with my car. which is as follows;

LT Headers, 3 inch Offroad Y, No Cat, Lt4 Hotcam, 1.6 mag RR's,Morroso CAI, 373 gears, Custom Tune From Ion aka Madz28, Premium Gas and a DeathWish.

If that doesn't walk one I'll be pissed.

Re: lt1 vs ls1

I can't count the number of LT1 guys who are at or beyond the 400+ rwhp mark. Just goes to show how achievable that goal is for an NA build.

If you're one of those guys who won't be satisfied with anything less than 500 at the rear wheels then you might start looking to forced induction and/or nitrous. If you can't stand to do it any other way than NA.... well you need to look at gen1 or perhaps the gen3 platform. Of course the sky is the limit for a bbc swap.

At some point, moving to another generation of engine makes everything easier. Most will never need to go there though.

Re: lt1 vs ls1

FYI LT headers and 4.11s were what woke my car up the most. Start with those along with a cold air intake and good exhaust, and you'll be much happier. After that you can move on to heads & cam parts to really make your car whoop an the LS1.
