At least they still build the Mustang. We can't say the same about our cars. GM has really pissed me off the last few years with the ugly crap they're turning out and killing the F-body.

I'm a hardcore Ford man (and always have been) that just so happened to fall in love with the 4th gen F-bodies. Mainly because of the looks and the fact that GM used the 350 instead of a puny engine (aka 302).

As for the comparison: you can't really compare them since they were never in direct competition with eachother. If they ever were, you can be rest assured that the LT1 would've made a lot more than 275/285 hp during its days. We probably would've gotten 18* or 15* heads because of the hp race between the two.

Doncha just love a capitalist economy?

The LT1 sounds about a million time better

The Windsor, at least in its stock form has a tractor like idle and low rpm sound to it. I've got one in my Bronco, made them till 1996 with Windsors, 215hp and 330ft. lbs.

My original intent was to just close this but after reading some of the replies, there is some decent info being presented. So, as long as the trend continues, I'll keep it open.

FacelessZ, in the future it would be better to post something a little more specific rather than "let the games begin". That is just asking for trouble in the Tech forum. Thanks!

Hasn't this been tried in 1995; Corba R vs Z28? If I remember right there was only a .01-.02 difference kinda sad considering it was a limited edition that required a race license

Yep, without capitalism, there would never have been Mustangs and Camaros. Just one car, one truck for everybody.

The most powerful chassis dyno I EVER saw was a 1st Gen Lightnin', with a twin turbo 351W. It pulled a shade under 1,000rwHP. This is on the same chassis dyno that had George Baxter's "worlds quickest LT1" at about 925rwHP......

And as far as I know, the Lightnin' is now close to 1,500flywheel.
