So do you mean a stock LT1 vs. a Stock 351 Windsor (what was the last year that was available?, 1978?) or do we first allow the Windsor to be built with aftermarket aluminum heads, fuel injection and electronic ignition just to level the playing field?

We can do the crate 351 at $450 vs the post-truck LT1...

They used fuel injected 351W's up to the 1995 model Ford F-150 and maybe another year or two in the F-250 before the SuperDuty came out. You guys don't know much about Fords do ya :P

Talking

my '96 Bronco has the proud Windsor, Ontario sticker on it

I like my Ford trucks (before they were put on a car chassis)!

Yep, guess Ford tried following GM in every department while competing with the 454SS, good engine thats easy to mod.

Hot rod magazine did an article on this about 2 years ago. Altho it was a 351W vs a GM 350 smallblock and they were both allowed to use aftermarket parts. There were a few restrictions on parts to keep it even. in the end the GM 350 Spanked the 351W by about 40 HP. I would imagine a fuel injection setup on the 351W would improve power some, but the LT1 has reverse flow cooling on its side. I say the 351W is too old school to compete with the LT1. Look at the LS1 , its newer technology and can make more power than an LT1. Besides Ford sucks anyway

Ford sucks anyway

all but the 20* valve angle they had for a long long time before the modular crap started up.
