Lt1 Turbo Cam Choice Help Please!!!

whats up guys well its time for me to now disassemble my HCC set-up to go with a cam more suited for turbo use as the cam i was running will be to large for the TT kit i am putting together the specs on the current cam were 242/248 with lift around .580 on a 113lsa i am retaining my stock bottom end this cam worked well but continued making power past were i wanted to rev my stock shortblock (6800-7k) in turn i didnt want to spin a bearing.

so i wanted a cam that will give me a little more midrange power and doenst take as long to make power in the upper rpm range, i was looking for something that will get me going a little earlier and top out around 6000k or a lil more, but not start making power from 6k upwards you know.

a heard alot about exhaust overlap and that i dont want to much of that and to keep the LSA's around 113-115 and that it doesnt need much duration to work with TURBO. this is what i know but what i dont know is where to even start. who makes cams which i could look at, does anyone have any suggestions for me.

BTW: i am running heads with a port job similar to a stage 2 LE's with stock valves and 918's beehives.

also i wanted to know what would be the best head gasket to use to drop my compression from 10:8-11:0 to lets say about a 10:0 if possible right now the bottom end is a stock lt1 bottom with the heads milled 20 thousandths i am currently running the mr.gasket .26 crush gaskets but someone told me there were some .41 crush thickness gaskets that i can use to bring my compression ratio down, but exactly how much will it bring it down?

any guiding light here will be helpful guys BOOST gurus please chime in.

hey jammer

a couple places to look for cams would be..

Iskycams.com
Compcams.com
Oregoncamshaft.com - they do really good custom grinds
Cranecams.com
Edelbrock.com

just to name a few.

If i read this right, and you are putting a Twin Turbo together.. do yourself a favor and build a forged bottom end! for not that much more you can stroke you motor out and get alot more torque and power.. without the turbos.. then you add them into the mix.. and sheesh.. lol...

this calculator is pretty accurate.. type in your data, along with your gasket thickness and poof. good to go..
