Lt1 Tuning. Indianapolis, IN

OK so the motor is currently still in the process of being rebuilt. Right now I've got the C305 cam, Pacesetter LTs, 0.30 pistons making it a 355. So my question is if anyone knows any good shops that either specialize in LT1 tuning or have a good rep at tuning LT1s. I would tune it myself, but I figure I've spent all this money why not spend some more and not have to do any work lol...any response is appreciated.

Re: Lt1 Tuning. Indianapolis, IN

I can't answer your question directly since I don't live there, but I can tell you that it is getting more rare to find anyone that knows LT1 cars although they are relatively easy to tune. If you have the tools to tune with you can get quite a lot done by yourself, but you have to be disciplined about how to measure it or else get some dyno time and have your routine down before you show up. It shouldn't take too long to cram in a tune for a CC305 headers car. If you wanted to tune using the back road banzai run method and had a lappy for a logger to check for timing retard and a wideband sensor that would help get your fueling right, then you can plot speed vs. time and see how quickly you are accelerating. You shouldn't need to do too much with timing except at idle and low speed. Also you should install in a new knock sensor with your fresh 355 if you haven't already (make sure you torque it in properly before installing the engine) and make sure your motor mounts aren't a mess. It'll lessen the possibilities of false knock driving you crazy and getting in the way of your progress.
