We werelosers... I am a LOSER...
BUMMER of a weekend at NMCA race for,
ME
HRHAWK
TAJACK
Me and the Hawk exited FIRST round.
TA exited SECOND round.
Personnely I couldn't cut a light to save my butt ALL weekend! Cut such a bad light first round I had to run a 11.93 on a 12.00 index.
Double breakout but the guy tree'd me and I
HATE getting tree'd.
N2O and window switch worked GREAT! I played with the upper RPM module to try to qualify. as close to 12.00 as possible. Didn't get very close but did qualify dead nuts in the middle of the field, 5th out of 9 cars.
Got some brake pad ideas from Steve Quinn and will be trying them, maybe at Columbus in 3 weeks. Gonna order some more RPM modules as 200 RPM between them is too much!
I turned on N2O at 3000 rpm and shut off at 5000, 5400 and 5600 RPM's depending on the qualifying run. It appears that 200 rpm difference makes about a .075-.080 difference in ET. I have the even numbered modules now, 5000, 5200, 5400... to 6000 rpm.
I'm gonna order the odd number'd ones, 5100. 5300... to 5900 for even finer tuning.
Gotta crunch some numbers so I can figure out how to dial in my new nitrous car. Ran a 50 shot all weekend.
HInk (really down right now)

Cheer up buckaroo, there will be other races
I probably should have tried to make it, but with the car having a few bugs, I decided not to.
You should fly with a 150 shot...

I'm trying to Harold!
Went 11.92 on a 5400 rpm shutoff.
Went 11.8X on the brakes with a 5600 shutoff.
SHOULD go 11.7X with a 5800 shutoff.
SHOULD go 11.6X with a 6000 shutoff
ALL on a 50 HP douse. This was all in 90+ degree heat. I really think 10.8X's are probable with a 150 shot and maybe a 6100 cutoff.
I at least, got my feet wet with the stuff. With a 50 shot you really only feel it on the launch although my 60' times reflected NOTHING any better than normal. Maybe I need to kick it in at 2800 or so??!! The 1/8 mile times and speeds were picked up quite a bit so it was hitting harder in the mid-range.

I'm not getting into specifics, but just take my word for it: It could have been a lot worse. Cheer up.

"My" Weekend was not that bad...I thought.
Ya I went out first round but it was my light that took me out , I was closer to my index that the Grand National of Clays.
I was afraid of red lighting after thAT .501 LIGHT THE RUN BEFORE.
I had a green unproven new motor, new never ran nitrous system [wet] and lots of small issues that did not hold me down.
With the Help of Steve Johnson from NOS he helped me with jets and fuel pressures and by the third qualifer it went down the track without bluber.
The car needs way more gear now since she makes power to 7000 and its running thru at 5900-6000.
I knew it was a test and tune thing for my weekend, it would have been a bonus to go a round.
Oh did I mention
cutting a .501 light on a .5oo pro tree
...KooL
Running my best 60' EVER was way kool.
The old motor on a 275 shot went a 1.53 sixty.
The new motor on a bald starting line with a 175 shot thats still way too to fat on fuel and also needs to run around 28 degrees timing instead of 26 degrees was shaking the tires hard off the line did a 1.49!.
So over all I drove to the car to the track, ran, drove home and the car "didn't get beat up"....
All of which had not been done for over a year and man it was fun being behind the wheel.
The Pit party with Swindel and the Traction Advantage guys was a HOOT! saturday nite.
Oh And NMCA Street car racing ROCKS!

Don't buy pills!!! I found a website that shows you how to make your own and I made an adjustable one, any rpm you want, just turn the pot and check w/meter. Interested? I'll send info if you are.I need to learn how to spell!

beer reserves!..LOL..
I don't remember chit!
anyways..
got the damper off today..the rotor is in
at least 30 pieces!..some of it powder..
anyways..oughta have it running by thursday..
"AGAIN"!!!!!!!!!
Later Broh,
Matt
Matt... since it was on jackstands the WHOLE time I was there, I just thought that was how you parked it between rounds!!!
NO REALLY... It woulda been the chitz to see that bad, 500+ N2O shot monster go down the track!! I would have luved to see you pull the chute!!! Let us know some numbers when you get some, pal!!
Hawk... sorry man... it was more of a bummer for me, I expected much more of myself! Did TAJack hit the brakes a little early? Sure looked like he had the guy covered!
Hawk... you musta seen the note I sent Mike??
Corngrats on that NEAR perfect light!! I am
humbled.
Nice to pal around with Al, Chris and my wife Sunday, ended up being FUN!
ChrisJA... At least I see the light at the end of the tunnel. It really turned out to be a learning experience! I haven't cussed and sworn like I did after getting beat since the early 80's racing scooters. Think I'm bad NOW, I used to REALLY throw a fit!!
Ahhhhhh, modern medication!!

The winners are all the guys who made 1/4 mile passes! It was good to see all of you out there "having fun"
Some of us just sat around getting beat by the sun:d HOT!
Kev,
I say spray the beotch out of the hole
Throttle switches rule. The lower it sprays, the harder it pushes the pistons down trying to puncture them with the rod.
Pretty sure that's the only reason I got 1.4 seconds out of my 75 shot like I was telling you. I lugged my little motor like a dog right out of the hole. The stock converter(1500), the 3.08 gears, and lack of tire spin also helped. A little shot down that low(lets say 1800 rpm) probably produces the same amount of TQ that a 125 shot does at 3 grand. Your converter will keep you in the safe zone to i'd think. Goodluck!

Remember Jeff, I told you it was a bummer you got that .501 light in qualifing. It still makes my day though when I hit the tree every once in a while like that. I ran Quinn in the first round and he red lit with a .495. I stayed in it and ran a 12.001 on the 12.0 index and the word spread around the pits before I could get back there. Tom Craig accused me of having electronics that lets me know how fast I am going during the run. I did hit the brakes on my run with Todd Merkle (10.0) because I had a new full bottle and thought I was going to break out, but I was wrong. Well, Columbus is coming up- last NMCA race of the season. I felt shi77y all weekend but remembered that a bad day at the track is still better than a good day at work.
