lt1 timing chane

with a 95 lt1 when you take it to a double roller do you use the l98 set up gear chain cam gear?just want to make sure i order the right parts.

I'm pretty sure you just use a regular SBC chain. I used Comp cams 3136 Double roller on my motor. When you install it, be sure you clearance the timing cover plenty before running the motor. I had to tear mine apart again because the cam gear rubbed the cover ever so slightly.

How could you tell that it was rubbing "slightly"? Just heard it scraping or what?

Yeah it made a noise when it was rubbing. When I took the timing cover off it had a few shallow scratches where it was rubbing. It looked like the raised lettering for the part number on the cam gear was rubbing a bit. Hopefully no harm was done. I didn't find a lot of metal in the pan or the oil.
