LT1 timing chain/gear replacement
LT1 timing chain/gear replacement
I am replacing my waterpump with an electric one. I also would like to replace my timing chain and gears but WITHOUT the added gear for the water pump. I have a 1994 LT1 350. It does have the longer dowl and the distributor is the upgraded one such as the 1995. Does anyone know of a gear setup that I can replace without the added gear for the waterpump? I would like a direct bolt in and it can be a single or double roller I have no preference. Any one better than the other? Any part numbers you all can suggest to make this as painless as possible? Thanks
Re: LT1 timing chain/gear replacement
I run a Cloyes 3145 "True Double Roller" I beleive is the part number, a search could turn up the exact number. May have to grind the cover down just a little, but it's been working fine for 4+ years on my car. At this point you can run just about any late model timing setup that'll fit under the timing cover, but most use that 3145.
